ABC announced yesterday the names of the actors playing the roles of Frozen’s Kristoff and Anna in the hit series, Once Upon a Time. Today, the studio announced – after months of speculation – the identity of the actress who will take on the role as the Queen of Ice herself, Queen Elsa. The role will be played by a former Fringe actress. The role of the ice queen will be played by Georgina Haig, the 28-year-old star of Fringe.
Yesterday’s announcement had many fans surprised. The role of Kristoff went to an actor with a significant following. Scott Michael Foster, 29, is the guy you might recognize from his days on Greek. What surprised fans, however, is the casting of Anna. The role went to an unknown new actress by the name of Elizabeth Lail.
In the season finale of Once Upon a Time, the show gave a sneak peek to viewers of a bit of Queen Elsa, leading fans to delight. The suspected entrance of the Queen was a rumor for several months, and it was finally confirmed in the last episode of the season. However, the casting of the queen was not yet decided at the time. For that reason, rumors began to swirl over who would play the queen, and whether or not her sister and her sister’s love interest would take part in the hit ABC series. Elsa’s role is finally cast, and fans are sure to find the decision satisfactory. The blonde actress delighted fans with her role on Fringe, and she’s got the look to make a spectacular Queen Elsa.
ABC made it clear with their announcement of the casting of Kristoff and Anna that both characters would stay fairly true to their movie personalities, though it’s unknown whether or not the same rings true of Queen Elsa. What is known, however, is that the Storybrooke storyline is going to continue right where Elsa, Anna and Kristoff left off in the popular movie.
