This week’s tabloids are schizophrenic about Brangelina. There are multiple “sources” claiming that Angelina and Brad are on the verge of splitting, that Angelina is too thin, too tired, and the producers on Salt had to have “a discreet word’ with Angelina about her smallness. They’re also claiming that Brad and the kids haven’t been visiting her on the set so much, and that Angelina is “very insular” on the set. Here’s The Daily Mail’s version:
They appeared to have the perfect relationship but Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt seem to have hit their first rocky patch.
Sources on Angelina’s new movie, Salt, say she is exhausted and is barely seeing Brad and her children – who have moved from LA to New York, where she is filming, to be closer to her.
Relations between Angelina, 33, and Brad, 45, are understood to be so strained that she is living alone at New York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel, while he and their six children are renting a house nearby.
Angelina’s tiredness and a dramatic weight loss are concerning Brad and her producers.
‘Brad and the kids have barely visited the set and Angelina seems very insular,’ says a source. ‘She’s staying on her own, working 15-hour days and the stress is taking its toll. We’re all very concerned.’
‘She’s on a liquid detox diet to lose 21lb in 20 days. She is doing all the stunts herself and barely has time to eat.’

The Daily Mail is doubling down on last week’s report in The Sun, which said that Angelina is doing some kind of liquid detox diet. I’ve seen pictures from the Salt set, and Angelina looks fine. She’s lost maybe three or four pounds at most, but it seems the tabloids have a set parameter on the stories they write about her. “Angelina is too thin!” or “Angelina on a diet!” and then “But wait, Angelina is pregnant again!” Blah, blah, blah.
Brad and Angelina are also reportedly on the verge of adopting their seventh child. “Sources” claim that Angelina and Brad have been interested in adopting from India since 2006, but the timing and their schedules were never right. Sounds hokey, because neither Brad nor Angelina strike me as the kinds of parents who would let a little thing like a scheduling conflict stop them from adopting. PR-Inside has more:
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are to extend their multinational brood with a child from India, according to reports.
The pair already has three adopted children – Maddox, seven, from Cambodia, Pax, four, from Vietnam and Zahara, three, from Ethiopia – as well as biological daughter Shiloh, two, and their seven-month-old twins Vivienne and Knox.
Jolie recently revealed plans to adopt from India when she met the child stars of Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire.
When ten year old Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail asked the Tomb Raider star why she hadn’t adopted from his home country, she replied, “Well, I’ll let you into a little secret, we will soon.”
A source tells British newspaper the Sunday Express that the couple originally showed interest in adopting from India when they visited the country’s Priya Darshini Orphanage in 2006, but were too busy to finalise the details.
The insider says, “They filled out all the paperwork but had to put the adoption on hold because of all their other commitments.”

It would be interesting if they adopted from India, but I actually think they are more likely to adopt from an African country next. Angelina has said in interviews in the past that she would like some racial balance in the family. They have two Asian boys (Pax and Maddox), but only one African girl (Zahara). Will Angelina and Brad choose another little African girl to adopt next? That’s my guess.
