RSC Internacional (Real Madrid ‘C’ from next season) head coach Luis Garcia is set to replace Diego Martinez as the new Espanyol boss.
Martinez took over from Vicente Moreno as Espanyol manager in May 2022 on a deal that would see him stay at the club until 2024.
However, after four consecutive losses including a 2-1 defeat to Girona on Saturday, the club have taken the decision to replace Martinez with Garcia.

Garcia, who came through the Real Madrid youth academy as a youngster, rejoined the club last summer becoming RSC’s head coach in July 2022.
The 42-year-old, who retired in 2019, made 257 appearances for the club scoring 61 goals and providing 25 assists during his six-year spell with the Spanish side.
The former Spain international, who earned seven international caps for his country, won the Spanish cup in 2006 with Espanyol.
Real, who defeated Real Valladolid 6-0 on Sunday at the Santiago Bernabeu, will meet tomorrow to decide on the new RSC head coach with options from within the club being considered.
Real will not demand compensation for Garcia as they understand that it is a great opportunity for the former midfielder, highlighting his knowledge and professionalism during his time at the club.
The Espanyol squad have been informed and a formal announcement is expected soon.
The club are 17th in La Liga, just above the relegation zone on goal difference and are next in action against Athletic Club on April 8.
